Important Announcement

Once again i am back in the league business. The addy for my new league is http://www.myleague.com/wordsteal/ and the tournaments will be held at http://www.wordsteal.com/ in the ladder room. The ladder room is on the room list. It is strictly a tourney league unless the admin (me and any staff i add ) determines that a formal challenge is in the interests of the league. the first tourney is Sunday June 24 6 pm est. Hoyle at Wordsteal

Its good to see that Hoyle players are coming out to wordsteal. I believe that people can enjoy both products. However if you are from Holye and someone happens to accuse you of being a ringer because you (Spot and others lol) just whipped their sorry ass tell them that you are an experienced player from another site and ask them if they want another beating like the one they just got? They will either play you again or crawl off whimpering , either way you can be proud of your Hoyle background while meeting greeting and beating players from all over the world. Wherever you play have fun and raise some hell !

Posers at Wordsteal

Another gripe session about Wordsteal. I along with a few other players have noticed that at Wordsteal there are a number of players with ratings of 2000 and above that come in and sit in the room and rarely or never play. Want an example? Ok here ya go!! A player named MarkPisces comes in saturday with a win/loss record of around 398-4 and a rating of about 2400 which is a nice rating. This sad sap proceeds to sit in the room and do nothing for 3 hours straight. I asked Rickety about him and he told me he asked the guy to play once and the asswipe replied "I am too good for you". This isnt the first time i have seen this guy come in and parade his rating without playing but every time i see him or one of the other jerks there (and believe me there are several) do their poser routine it pisses me off to no end. Im done ranting for now cya!

Extreme

The Extreme Icon (me) made it back to competition in the Asylum (social room 2 ) today. There was a nice turnout for the tourneys and i managed to win 2 of the 3 i played in. After taking an initial beating or two from Bluberry i managed to bounce back and salvage a bit of skin and pride and take her out for the count ;-)
The leagues are in terrible shape attendance wise from what i saw in the standings today. Maybe people will come in out of the heat and start playing more often. I plan on trying to get the word out to some of the wordsteal players that there are tourneys to play in at hoyle, who knows maybe even a few of the posers over there will come out.
Shine up them #1 rank belts , im coming for them!

Return to Hoyle

My first tourney in months took place at Interleague and i had a GREAT time. I ended up losing to that rascal Junior but i whupped Ceedie so bad she tucked her tail between her legs and ran off before the game was even over. Also a shout out to Barb for hosting at Synergy late last night, Thanks Barb it was great fun!

Bored

Im bored with Ox again so just to shake things up a bit i rejoined Interleague today. I might actually even play there too. I feel the hissing and booing but i dont care , like me or not you gotta deal with me :-) Cya at one site or another!

Rescue Me

The new season of Rescue Me started last night and the show is as funny and dramatic as ever. I am looking forward to the full season. The actor who plays Franco said in an interview to not get too attached to any one character this season so its probably going to be one hell of a wild ride this time around. I cant wait until next Wednesday.

A Day in Kentucky

Made it back to my homestate for a visit yesterday. I took my daughter CJ to a small amusement/waterpark in Bowling Green Ky called Beech Bend park. Its an out of the way little place but its quite nice. It has a number of rides geared towards smaller children and stuff for teens and adults as well. They have a nice waterpark too and the kid had a blast. They let me take her on the WildMouse which is a spinning roller coaster and after that all she wanted to do was ride the fastest rides. They had a large water ride with 2 big drops and she made me ride that 1 with her about 20 times. A fun day in the Bluegrass State.

Stackers

Speaking of pet peeves.... Stacking is part of the game but geez i hate playing someone that focuses solely on stacking my words at the expense of their own game. Case in point the game i am in at this writing i led off with tut, the other player tried to stack not on top of it (<---not paying attention at all , just trying to grab a stack) and lost a turn. every play this player made was aimed at stacking on my stuff. I run into this one dimensional playing style quite often. Ugh!

I Get It

I finally understand why people at wordsteal hate ringers. You work hard , build up a respectable rating, play anyone who wants a game (i do anyway) and along comes some asshole with a new name and in this game skilled or not you cant win every game so you take a beating on that hard earned rating to someone who has a name with a respectable rating already. Why these people cant stick with one or 2 names is a question unanswerable. I will continue to play the ringers, assholes that they are but like i said i do understand the hatred and continuing rejections for games by established players when one of these jerks comes along.

Idiots

Saw a player with 45/45/s/o pinks ok set up and i said to myself what the heck, i havent played pinks ok in a long time. Players name was Ginny3, maybe a nice person , maybe friendly with many people, had a nice rating too and after this post you too may wonder how she earned it. First time pinks were open i cleared and she typed LOL. I let it go and cleared again a few mins later and got another LOL. I asked what she was laughing at and she replied that she wanted to see if i was a pinker. I replied that if the options allow it , youbetcha i am and she replied "lame". I told her that the site we are on offers no pinks (duh) and cracked the whip once more for the win. With a 2120 rating you would think she might know this(duh again). Why in the hell someone would option pinks allowed and then bitch about me clearing has only 1 explanation. IDIOT!!!

UFC 71 & more

Chuck "the Iceman" Liddell lost to Quentin "Rampage" Jackson in the first round of the main event . It was a huge knockout that left me and everyone else stunned. So Rampage is the new light-heavyweight champ. On to wordsteal....
I find it funnier than hell that some people want to play me, others want to parade their rating in the lobby, and ringers .... oh boy they come after me quick. As soon as one gets a new name bam!! As for the paraders, gimme a fucking break, win or lose you dont impress me, if you even have the guts to play. Get off your ass and bring it on. Thanks to those players that day in and day out bring their best shot and actually compete instead of playing anagrams and showing off their rating in the lobby. Good Day.

Hoyle

A few folks have asked if i have played at Hoyle lately or plan to. No i havent and no i am not. I hear the joyous shouts from some of you (you know who you are) glad to be rid of a troublemaking sonofabitch. You shouters can bugger off. I will miss playing some of you, if you want games come play me at Wordsteal.com , it will be good to see ya there. Its contaminated with freaks but i havent seen any monkeypox there yet. Even if that disease is there it cant ruin leagues. So cya at the tables ;-)

Wordsteal Ratings etc

I guess its easy to build a killer rating if you are selective about who you play. I know i harp on this alot but its a pet peeve of mine. If i have a table set up im not gonna reject a player, i dont care if its amplipeckerhead, verbigator or the devil himself.
I also hear there is a new league at wordsteal , why do they need a league? They are already rated and there are plenty of places online to get brackets to set up tourneys. None of my business i guess but i can write whatever i want here :-)

A Wordsteal Blog

Was doing a blog search for wordox/wordsteal references and ran accross this.....http://wordsteal.blogspot.com/2007/04/welcome-to-mbwordsteal-blog.html It only had 5 coments on it but i added a 6th. There are a lot of players at wordsteal with pretty ratings 2000 and up that are complete wimps. They like to parade that rating but they damn sure like to protect it too. If you have a 2000 and over rating you can still get a couple of rating points by beating players rated 1700 and up. Or they say " this person must be someone from hoyle, oh my god!! they might tarnish my precious win loss record or unearned rating". I have seen this firsthand as has wordman and other players . Kudos to the ones who do want to play and also a round of applause to those with lower ratings who keep trying. As for the rest grow a set and play!

Playing at Hoyle

It was good to see everyone at Hoyle Sunday. I got to work in a tourney with the good folks at FSW and i got to do a pards at Exox with my hotty partner Hollypeenyo. Won both tournaments so all in all it was a great day.
People were asking where i have been.... the fish have been biting and i took CJ fishing a number of times, been swimming and working on a tan, playing softball and basketball etc.

WordSteal

What little time i have to play lately has been spent playing at wordsteal.com . Most of the time when i am able to play no one is on at Hoyle and wordsteal offers rated games. It also offers an updated dictionary . Another good thing about wordsteal is you can now control watchers and there are no sound distractions. The limited graphics may run better on some older pc's as well. For no pinkers it adds a bar on the pink to remind ya not to play the pink and there is a version of the s rule in place now.
Now that i have talked about the good lets deal with the bad and ugly of wordsteal. If you are a crossover from hoyle and have any ability at all the established top rated players are suspicious of ya and several in that group have a fear of "ringers",which are top rated players that went and registered a new name. The reason that pisses these toprates off is because if you are using a new name with a 1600 rating and beat a 2100 rated player it takes a big chunk of their hard earned rating points while the 1600 rated player doesnt take any rating hit for a loss. Yes i know that shouldnt matter much but to many it does.
I miss playing in tourneys but getting a game in when i can means alot and wordsteal offers that option so if ya want to play some truly badass players that dont do hoyle i promise you can find them at wordsteal.

What is U.F.C.? Ultimate Fighting Championship. Referee may Restart the round: If the fighters reach a stalemate and do not work to improve position or finish.

I know that breaks some peoples hearts lol..... Anyway I have been quite busy with doing some remodeling work on my home, spending time with my kid and the usual crap people do when they arent online. I needed a break from the ox world and i know the ox world can always use a break from me. On to weightier matters.
I dropped in on the interleague room today just in time to see Ceedie forfeit a match against Wordman. Refusing to play a cheater is one thing but passing up a chance to play against a world class player because you dont like that player is ignorant. That is as bad as the player who declined to play me because i "scare" them.... yes that actually happened to me a few weeks ago. I scare you? wtf kinda of garbage is that? Ox isnt a boxing ring where you strap on the gloves and get the crap beat out of ya. Its not a cage match , get real. Wussy.
Reading list.
I am working on reading The Belgariad by David Eddings, just finished "A Feast For Crows " by George R R Martin, and read a few more John Grisham books. I also read a few books by Larry McMurtry (Lonesome Dove) and i have a couple of Tom Clancy novels to read.
