I got an email tonight concerning the setup of a voting booth at Accord's league on whether to keep the league active ,close it , set up a new 1 , interested at all etc. The email said that Ox and Accord are both dying the slow death. I hope not!
With Spring here and Summer around the corner participation in tourneys will continue to fail as always happens this time of year. I , for 1 , will not be on as much because i have many plans for my free time this summer.
Another problem is that many antivirus programs and spyware removers think that the WonWebLauncher is a spybot and people have trouble getting in to Hoyle because of that.
Maybe one day the new owners of Hoyle will correct that problem, who knows? But until then i hope everyone can find time at least once a in awhile to join a tourney or blast a yahoo message out asking for laddergames. I will have more to say on this whole subject later about turning things around for people interested in trying.

Well I am interested in trying. I dont think its just the better weather at the moment. All the Hoyle outages - the problems with anti spyware and now Vista. There is help with these issues in the forum but are difficult to find - fantasia has a helpful web site but we need a guide for dummies and some method of getting the instructions to peeps who need them. I cannot see with Vista how we will get any new players in Hoyle - nobody will be able to join, they will just think they cant play at Hoyle.
Second problem I think is all the petty squabbles - it must put people off.
Thirdly, the leagues themselves, I have said before how insular some members are. Support their own league but rubbish the rest. Surely in these 'desperate times' it would help if we could all pull together and support all the leagues as much as possible. I have tried to do this in the past but now I am having real difficulty in finding any tournaments to play in - admittedly some of that is due to the time difference.
Come on peeps lets try - we all love wordox - what would we do without it?????
On your first point Mummy it might help if some players got together and asked the owners for help on the issue of new players getting in etc.
As for petty squabbles- you put 2 people together for any amount of time there will be fur and feathers flying , its inevitable.
As for supporting all the leagues , I think that it could be done if the diehard oxers would pull together. I bet it has been awhile since a td or admin has recruited from social 1 too. I know sometimes they get pissy in there about ads but so what ? Anyway i could write a book about all this but i will save more for later.
