Posers at Wordsteal
Another gripe session about Wordsteal. I along with a few other players have noticed that at Wordsteal there are a number of players with ratings of 2000 and above that come in and sit in the room and rarely or never play. Want an example? Ok here ya go!! A player named MarkPisces comes in saturday with a win/loss record of around 398-4 and a rating of about 2400 which is a nice rating. This sad sap proceeds to sit in the room and do nothing for 3 hours straight. I asked Rickety about him and he told me he asked the guy to play once and the asswipe replied "I am too good for you". This isnt the first time i have seen this guy come in and parade his rating without playing but every time i see him or one of the other jerks there (and believe me there are several) do their poser routine it pisses me off to no end. Im done ranting for now cya!

Jeff -
......and ONE of those POSERS had the nerve to call me a RINGER!
LOL
Spot the Ringer
I don't understand the whole concept of "ringers." Apparently a ringer in Wordsteal is an experienced player who changes his/her name and comes into Wordsteal with a low rating, then starts playing top rated players and beating them. First of all, what difference does it make what name someone uses? There are a ton of players in Wordsteal who have a whole array of different names (one guy must have 20 or 30 names). Using different names doesn't make them better players. Secondly, what's the point of changing your name and coming into Wordsteal to beat high rated players? Very soon the word will get around that you're a "ringer" and people will avoid playing you, anyway. So what good does it do to change your name in order to "fool people?"
