wtf wordsteal

Man i am really frustrated with the wordsteal site and the lack of attention to server issues , room admin issues etc that go on with the site . Mark Byers , i realize , created and maintains the site on his own time and i assume he does so with funds from his own pocket but that isnt doing much for my mood when i want to get my fix lol . According to what i have read on the forums he doesnt accept donations which means he can do what he wants when he wants with the site with no one to answer to except himself.

So... What can one dumbass country redneck do about it? Well i can bitch about it on my blog for a temporary (5 minutes max) feel better fix , or i can explore the options to get people together to build a site that has people in charge that care about the game. I realize that it may be a pipe dream but i love the game and i want to be able to play night or day when i feel like it and not be subject to the whim of one person that doesnt give a rats ass who gets to play and who doesnt.

I am sure Mr Byers is a good guy and i dont want to offend him or any of his friends. I just want to play the game and its getting to the point where server freezing , boot issues and the site just not working at all have really pissed me off. What i am trying to do here is get some dialogue going and get feedback on the possibilities of a player owned wordox/wordsteal site. I agree with you all the way Kes. I will help in anyway I can including contributing to cost. It would be much better to have a site managed by players who are interested in the game itself, win or lose lol. Unfortunately I am not a Java programmer and have no contact with one. Lets hope someone comes up with a workable plan. Just holler if you need me. No xxx and ((())) mind!!!

Let's see what I've got... a potential future son-in-law who likes this sort of thing (word games, words, reading) and is majoring in IT in college. I'm afraid I don't know him well enough yet to know if this is up his alley.
I miss the momentum that we had going this month for the big anniversary, play the most games contest. It's been fun lately, worrying less about losing rank and more about volume. When Kes left town and moved himself down so I was number 1 on the ladder, it was tons of fun. Everyone wanted to ladder me, and I held my spot...until Nats showed back up, lol. But even then, I have managed to keep nats honest and fight off all comers, and was looking forward to laddering with you too Kes after that tourney was over. Wasn't it great to have a tourney with 13 people in it? Yes, it was. I want to help, I have never found another game that I enjoy as much as wordsteal.

And about hoyle...why is that so screwed up that many of us can't even get in the front door (back door, or side door too?) Why can't somebody there verify a certificate or in some way play nice with vista?
