Interleague

As i advocated in an earlier post punishments may be handed down for those involved in the fracas at interleague Saturday. That being the case i rejoined Interleague and will take whatever punishment the remaining Admins decide to hand out. I was wrong as an admin to engage in a lobby fight and i hope the others that got involved that are in positions of power at other leagues realize their mistake as well.
I do hope that after they do whatever it is they think needs doing they decide to find out whether United is going to continue getting free exposure while venturing nothing. And if they wise up and United continues their non-participation i hope that the powers- that- be rid Interleague of the crap that United left on the doorstep, since you have to be a member of a participating league to play at Interleague. That being said im ready to take my punishmet, bring on the Singapore cane!!

Firstly I am glad you continue your blog, I would miss it, I don't comment very often but read with interest what peeps have to say. I am also glad that you have rejoined.

Punishments will be handed out to the main perpetrators and will be announced shortly. I was not present but have read the chatlog. The way Barbs was treated was dreadful and peeps who should have known better should not have joined in. I have made my opinions known to all of the participants. I applaud all those present who had the sense to keep out of it. I give credit to Perrin in that he did try to defend the TD but then couldn't keep quiet, saw the error of his ways and left. Pity Perrin because you could have come out of this smelling of roses! I am quite sure that Barbs whatever she did or didnt do was for the best of intentions and probably influenced by the continuing feud and should, in my opinion, have been backed up by every TD or admin present or they should have at the very least kept out of it. TDs give their time for all of you and no way should they have to put up with all this crap. If you dont like the TD or any player then dont sign up! If you want to play as in the case of the partners then forfeit with dignity or play and keep quiet, scream and shout at your computer like I am sure we all do and vent your feelings in a blog, well away from Ox.

Interleague: When Interleague was set up it was agreed by all that everyone should start with a clean slate. That is the way it was so regardless of any proof from any other league everyone was given a fresh start. A chance to reform - I hear hoots of derision. OK bring me proof of cheating in Interleague and I assure you something will be done about it - a deafening silence now.

We all know there are cheats, they come and go, opinions differ about different people and no way to prove it mostly. If your personal opinion is that someone cheats - don't play them - if you get caught then forfeit or play and shutup. Admin cannot kick a player out because of some peeps opinions - it might mean a totally innocent player is kicked out. Better to let guilty people go free than hang one innocent person!!

United: Who United allow to play in their league is totally up to them. They are a member of Interleague so their players are perfectly entitled to play. As you all know each league takes it in turn to host and has agreed not to put any tournies on to clash with Interleague. It is true that United have not hosted, they only have one TD at interleague, but they have kept the agreement about not running conflicting tournaments. I would be interested in reading peeps comments on this - I know Jeffs lol.

I would like to thank everyone who supports interleague especially the TDs who give up their time almost every week. There are quite a few TDs at Interleague and I could wish that a few more could spare some time to run a Tourney or two - even when it isn't their leagues turn to host. The burden at the moment seems to fall on the few.

I agree whole heartedly with mummykins in what she wrote. I would dearly miss Jeff's rantings and ravings but more than that I miss him in EXOX. The happening with mini is being resolved and hopefully she will be on the tables again soon as will Jeff. As for what happened in interleague on Saturday nite, it was unfortunate but sometimes things can get carried away. I do not think for a minute it will take away from what interleague is...a place for all of us players to get to know all the players in WORDOX land. Barb did a great job at trying to control a very volatile situation. My congratulations to her. It is like a snowball goes rolling down the hill...it becomes an avalanche. You did good Barb...not so sure I could have kept my cool. Let's hope Interleague continues...as I really enjoy it too.

Richard I suggest that you re-read my comment properly and get YOUR facts straight. I did not say in anyway that Amplify was banned from leagues because of people's opinions. I said "Admin cannot kick a player out because of some peeps opinions - it might mean a totally innocent player is kicked out. Better to let guilty people go free than hang one innocent person!!" In fact I never mentioned Amplify at all. If it can be proven that someone is cheating then Admin can ban someone. Proving it is the problem.

Whatever you or anyone else might think about it, Interleague was set up and it was agreed by all leagues to start everyone with a clean slate. As you point out "After getting thrown out of two other leagues he's naturally on his best behavior in Interleague." - maybe he has learnt his lesson!!

My comments about not signing up or if you do, then forfeit with dignity or play and shut up were directed at everyone. It would be preferable if they did not sign up but I expect they want to play and do not see why, because of one person they think cheats or they dont like is playing, they should not get the chance to play the rest. I have not played in tournaments because I didnt want to play someone I considered cheated (my own personal opinion) and I have also been caught because that person signed up after me and too late for me to pull out. I gritted my teeth and played, I didn't go as far as to forfeit but I felt like it!!

At times when there were a couple of cheaters playing and as you know yourself Richard it was difficult trying to find a tourney to play in!
